"What Is This?" — My Midnight Encounter with a Shadow

There are moments in life that don’t need explanation they simply need to be recorded. Last night was one such moment.

I was asleep. Nothing unusual. Just the quiet of the night and the soft rhythm of breath.

But then... something shifted.

I felt it before I saw it. A presence. A heaviness. Not physical, but energetic. I opened my eyes and there it was.

A dark smoke-like shadow, hovering right above me, within reach. It had no face, no voice, no form I could name. Just darkness dense, sudden, and still.

I didn’t know where it came from.

I wasn’t afraid. Just awake.

In my half-conscious state, I didn’t panic. I didn’t scream. I simply asked:
“What is this?”

It wasn’t human, so I didn’t ask, “Who are you?”
It didn’t deserve that much attention.

Just… “What is this?”
A question that came not from fear, but from a deeper part of me the part that has stood in many spiritual rooms before.

And then something beautiful happened.

Without a second thought, I raised my hand and made the sign of the Cross
On all four sides.
Above me.
Below me.

And with calm confidence, I declared:

"The blood of Jesus is victory. Now come, if you can."

There was silence.

The shadow didn’t move.
It didn’t grow.
It didn’t fight.

It disappeared.

And I?
I smiled. I turned.
And I slept peacefully.

πŸ’ Reflection:

I don’t need to know exactly what it was. I only know what I saw — and how I stood.

Some call it a spiritual attack.
Some might say it's a dream.
But I call it a test of presence.

Because when something tries to enter my sacred space, I don’t bow down. I don’t retreat.

I call on the name that never fails Jesus.

Not with fear. Not with desperation.
But with authority. With knowing.

And that was enough.

✝️ Final Thought:

We are not just protected
We are equipped.
We are not just dreamers
We are guardians of our light.
Even in sleep…
The spirit watches.
And the shadow has no power where faith stands firm.

Let me be the pen. Lord, you be the writer!

Mercy
