He Who Promised Is Faithful

In the year 2002, I stood at a crossroad, unaware of which path to choose or where my life would lead. I had no grand plans, no clear vision for my future—just the need to begin somewhere. That search led me to a marketing job in Mumbai. It wasn’t a role I had dreamed of, but I took it, believing that perhaps experience itself would become the teacher I needed.

One day, while in Mumbai, I came across a stack of Tamil monthly prayer editions from a spiritual center.

I found those books near a dustbin. Since I couldn’t carry all of them, I gently tore off the front cover and brought it back to the hostel. I’ve kept it safe ever since — and it's still with me. 🙂

My eyes were drawn to one in particular. The cover was bathed in a soft pink hue, and across the front were the words:

"He who promised is faithful."
And beneath those words, a tearful pair of eyes gazed back at me.

I cannot explain what happened in that moment—but I felt seen. Known. Held.

That verse sank deep into my heart. Since then, it has never left me. In every moment when life felt heavy or uncertain, those words returned to me like a whispered assurance from above.

When I was nothing… when I had no plan, no clarity, no confidence in myself—You guided me. You met me through a tear-stained cover and a verse that felt like it was written just for me.

And now, years later, I look back and see the quiet path of grace. How you led me from those early days of confusion to the place I stand in now.
All of it—in Your grace.

And if Your grace has brought me this far, then surely—You will lead me still.

Let me be the pen. Lord, you be the writer!
